Blindfolds

BaseIntensity
What it is

A blindfold is anything that temporarily blocks a partner's sight — usually a strip of cloth, a scarf, or a padded mask over the eyes. Taking away vision, the sense we lean on most, instantly heightens vulnerability and makes every other sensation sharper. It's one of the easiest, most accessible ways into sensory play and light bondage, needing no skill to start. Blindfolds appear everywhere from gentle, romantic teasing to intense domination. Not knowing what's coming next is exactly the point.

Why people are into it

With sight gone, touch, sound, taste, and anticipation all amplify — a feather or an ice cube lands far more intensely. There's also a psychological surrender in not being able to see what your partner will do next, which builds trust and suspense.

In practice

One partner blindfolds the other, then teases them with varied sensations — light touch, temperature, breath, a toy — while they can only guess what's coming. It pairs naturally with restraint, sensation play, or simply drawing out foreplay.

Safety & consent

Very low risk. Make sure the blindfold is comfortable and not pressing on the eyes, check in often since the blindfolded person can't read your face, and clear away hazards if they'll be moving around. A quick word lets them pause anytime.
