Corsetry

ExtraIntensity
What it is

Corsetry is the making and wearing of corsets — tightly fitted garments that cinch and shape the torso into a dramatic hourglass. It covers both traditional structured corsets, laced to support and gradually 'train' the waist, and modern fashion pieces that mimic the look. As a kink it's part fetish for the aesthetic — the exaggerated silhouette, the discipline of being laced in — and part sensation, the firm, constant embrace of the garment. Tightlacing (lacing very tight, over time) is the more intense end. It overlaps with clothing fetish, discipline, and bondage-adjacent restriction.

Why people are into it

The appeal blends the visual (a striking, controlled figure), the physical (the snug, hugging pressure and altered posture), and the psychological (submitting to being laced and shaped by another). For some, the restriction itself is a gentle, wearable form of bondage.

In practice

One partner laces the other into the corset, tightening it to the desired snugness — a lover might do the lacing as an intimate ritual. It's worn during a scene, an evening out, or a photo session, shaping posture and movement while it's on.

Safety & consent

Go gradually — 'season' a new corset and reduce the waist slowly rather than lacing hard right away. Over-tight or prolonged wear can compress organs, restrict breathing and digestion, and weaken core muscles, so loosen at once if you feel dizzy, breathless, or numb, and don't sleep tightly laced. Comfortably snug, not crushing, is the goal.
