Dirty talking
Dirty talk is using explicit, arousing words during sex or flirtation — narrating what you're doing, saying what you want, praise, commands, or filthy description. Clinically the fetishized version is called narratophilia, an eroticism specifically for sexual language. For most people, though, it's a mild, near-universal spice rather than a hardcore kink. It ranges from sweet and complimentary to degrading and commanding, matching whatever dynamic is in play. Words become their own form of foreplay and control.
Talk engages the mind — the biggest sex organ — building anticipation, guiding a partner, and voicing desire out loud in a way that feels vulnerable and thrilling. For dominants it's a tool of control; for submissives, praise or degradation lands especially hard in words.
Partners narrate and direct out loud — from 'tell me what you want' and heated compliments to explicit commands or degrading names, tuned to taste. It can run through the whole encounter or punctuate key moments, and works over text, phone, or in person.
Low-risk, but words carry weight: agree on what's welcome, especially for degradation, humiliation, or slurs, since a wrong word can genuinely wound. A quick check-in beforehand — and permission to call time on any theme — keeps it hot rather than hurtful.
