Ear Licking

BaseIntensity
What it is

Ear licking is sensual attention to the ear — licking, kissing, gently nibbling, or breathing on the outer ear and earlobe. The ear is nerve-rich and highly sensitive, so this common flirting and foreplay move can send shivers through the whole body, and the closeness (and sound) of a mouth right at the ear is intensely intimate. It's often paired with whispering or dirty talk, which adds an auditory layer. It overlaps with erogenous-zone play, neck kissing, and auralism. The ticklish, close intimacy is the draw.

Why people are into it

The ear's sensitivity makes light licking or breathing there surprisingly electric — a shiver-inducing tease — and having a partner's mouth so close, with the warmth, sound, and whispered words right at your ear, is deeply intimate and arousing.

In practice

A partner brings their mouth to the ear and lightly licks, kisses, or nibbles the outer ear and lobe, often with warm breath and whispered words, usually as part of foreplay or a heated makeout. It pairs naturally with neck kissing.

Safety & consent

Low-risk. Keep licking gentle and avoid loud, direct sounds into the ear canal (uncomfortable and potentially harmful to hearing); mind saliva and hygiene. Otherwise it's simply sensual.
