Katoptronophilia

BaseIntensity
What it is

Katoptronophilia is a fetish for mirrors — arousal from having sex, masturbating, stripping, or posing in front of them. Watching oneself and a partner in the act adds a voyeuristic, self-spectating layer, letting people see the sex as an outside observer would. Enthusiasts may set up mirrors around the bed, on the ceiling, or throughout a room to catch every angle. It blends exhibitionism (seeing yourself on display) with voyeurism (watching). It's an accessible, low-effort kink built from an everyday object.

Why people are into it

The appeal is seeing it happen — the visual feedback of watching your own bodies move together heightens arousal, feeds vanity and confidence, and turns you into both performer and audience. Some find the extra angles genuinely instructive as well as hot.

In practice

Partners position themselves in front of (or surrounded by) mirrors and watch themselves as they have sex, strip, or masturbate, choosing angles and poses. A single well-placed mirror or a mirrored ceiling can be enough.

Safety & consent

Low-risk. Make sure mirrors are securely mounted so they can't fall or break during vigorous action — that's about the only real hazard.
