Mummification

Mummification is extreme bondage in which a partner is wrapped from head to (nearly) toe until they're immobilized — a living, breathing 'mummy.' Materials range from plastic wrap, bondage tape, and cloth to specialized body bags, cocooning the person so completely that movement is impossible. It fuses total restraint, sensory deprivation, and helplessness into an intense, meditative experience. Because it's so encompassing, it calls for an experienced top and a submissive who knows their limits. It overlaps with bondage, confinement, and sensory deprivation.

The appeal is absolute helplessness and sensory quiet — wrapped, held, and unable to move, the submissive can only surrender and float, which for many is a deep, trance-like release. For the top, cocooning and controlling a partner so completely is intensely intimate.

The top wraps the submissive layer by layer — often over padding — leaving the face clear, until they're fully cocooned and immobile, then may leave them to 'float,' tease exposed areas, or add sensation. Sessions are kept deliberate and closely monitored.

Two dangers dominate: airways and heat. Never wrap over the nose or mouth, and never around the neck; and because wrapping traps body heat, watch closely for overheating and keep sessions limited. Keep safety shears within reach for instant release, monitor circulation, never leave the person alone, and agree a non-verbal signal since speech may be limited.
