Obedience Training

BDSMIntensity
What it is

Obedience training is a D/s practice where a dominant methodically teaches a submissive to follow rules, commands, and rituals with discipline and precision. As the name suggests, it's about conditioning responses over time — a sub learns to obey promptly, hold positions, use proper address, or perform tasks on cue — reinforcing the power exchange and building control, trust, and headspace. It can be strict and demanding or warm and rewarding, often mixing correction with praise. The 'training' framing makes obedience itself the goal and the reward. It overlaps with dominance/submission, discipline, and protocol.

Why people are into it

For the submissive, the structure and repetition are grounding and deeply satisfying — mastering commands and pleasing the dominant builds pride, focus, and a secure sense of their role. For the dominant, shaping a partner's behavior and watching them respond is an intimate, ongoing expression of control.

In practice

The dominant sets commands, positions, or protocols and drills them — rewarding correct responses with praise and correcting lapses — until they become second nature. It can be a focused 'training session' or woven into an ongoing dynamic with rules and rituals.

Safety & consent

Low physical risk; it's mostly psychological. Negotiate the rules, rewards, and any punishments, keep a safeword, and follow the safety for any physical discipline involved. Keep correction fair and within agreed bounds, and offer aftercare and reassurance.
