Odaxelagnia
Odaxelagnia is arousal from biting or being bitten — the erotic sting and pressure of teeth on skin. It ranges from playful nibbles and love-bites (hickeys) to firm, marking bites, and is often linked to sadism, masochism, and vampire fantasies. In truth, mild biting is extremely common in passionate sex, and most of it never rises to a 'fetish' level. As a kink it centers on the mix of pain, possession, and the marks left behind. It overlaps with sensation play, marking, and scratching (acarophilia).
Biting is primal and possessive — it signals raw passion, leaves a claiming mark, and delivers a sharp jolt of sensation that heightens arousal. Being bitten can feel wanted and dominated; biting can feel hungry and in control.
Partners bite the shoulders, neck, thighs, or other fleshy spots during sex — from teasing nibbles to firm, hickey-leaving bites — matching intensity to taste. It's usually a spontaneous, passionate accent rather than a whole scene.
The key rule: don't break the skin. Human bites carry lots of mouth bacteria and can cause serious infection if they draw blood, so keep it to firm pressure that marks without piercing. Avoid the throat and any spot over an artery, clean and watch any accidental broken-skin bite, and agree where visible marks are okay.
