Plushophilia / Ursusagalmatophilia
Plushophilia is a fetish for stuffed animals and plush toys — arousal from, or a romantic/erotic attachment to, teddy bears and other soft toys (ursusagalmatophilia specifically names the teddy-bear focus). Enthusiasts may be drawn to the softness, comfort, and cuddliness, incorporate plushies into sex, or feel genuine affection for them. It's related to but distinct from the furry fandom (which is about anthropomorphic characters, not literal plush toys), though the two sometimes overlap. It ranges from a comforting attachment to a sexual interest. Softness, innocence, and comfort are central.
The appeal blends sensory comfort (the softness and huggable warmth of plush) with emotional associations of safety, innocence, and unconditional affection. For some it's a soothing attachment; for others the cuddliness itself becomes erotic.
It might mean incorporating plush toys into masturbation or sex, cuddling and bonding with a beloved plushie, or collecting and caring for them with genuine affection. It's often private and comfort-focused.
Low-risk. If plush toys are used sexually, keep them clean (fabric harbors bacteria) and avoid anything that could cause irritation. Otherwise it's harmless comfort.
It's often confused with furry fandom but they're different: plushophilia is about actual stuffed animals and their softness, while furries are into anthropomorphic animal characters (fursonas, art, costumes). Some people are into both, but liking plushies doesn't make someone a furry, or vice versa.
