Role Play / Cosplay

Roleplay is taking on a character or scenario outside your everyday self as part of sex — from a quick 'naughty nurse' outfit to a fully developed persona with a backstory. Cosplay adds costume and character detail, often drawn from movies, games, or anime. It lets couples step into fantasies, try on different power dynamics, and inject novelty, humor, or drama into their sex life. Classics include the boss and assistant, doctor and patient, stranger pickup, or beloved fictional characters. It's a hugely flexible, accessible kink that underlies many others.

Playing a character grants permission to act, say, and want things outside your usual self — it lowers inhibitions, adds novelty, and lets couples safely explore power, taboo, or pure fantasy. Becoming someone else, even briefly, can be freeing and exciting.

Partners agree on characters and a scenario, dress and act the part to whatever degree they like, and let the story unfold — a strangers-meeting-at-a-bar pickup, an authority dynamic, or a favorite fictional pairing. It can be light and improvised or elaborately staged.

Low-risk. Agree on the scenario and limits beforehand, keep a way to break character if needed, and if the roleplay includes power dynamics or physical play, follow the safety for those. Otherwise, just have fun with it.
