Tickling

BaseIntensity
What it is

Erotic tickling (sometimes 'knismolagnia') is sensation play built around tickling — touching a partner's sensitive spots to provoke involuntary squirming, laughter, and helplessness. The one doing it is playfully called the 'tickle top' or 'ler'; the one receiving, the 'tickle bottom' or 'lee.' It's often combined with light bondage, since being unable to escape the sensation is much of the fun. It ranges from giggly, affectionate play to intense, restrained 'tickle torture.' The mix of helplessness, laughter, and loss of control is the appeal. It overlaps with bondage, sensation play, and CNC.

Why people are into it

The appeal is delicious helplessness — being unable to stop the sensation or escape produces a giddy, out-of-control surrender, and the forced laughter tips into a vulnerable high. For the top, reducing a partner to squirming, laughing helplessness is playful, intimate dominance.

In practice

The top tickles the bottom's sensitive spots — feet, ribs, underarms, thighs — often while they're loosely restrained so they can't wriggle away, building from light to intense. Feathers, brushes, or just fingers do the job, and it's usually laced with teasing.

Safety & consent

It sounds harmless, but intense tickling can genuinely overwhelm — someone laughing hard can struggle to breathe or speak, so agree a non-verbal signal (they may not get words out) and don't push too long. Watch for real distress under the laughter, mind any restraints, and stop when signaled.
