Voyeurism
Voyeurism is arousal from watching others be sexual — undressing, masturbating, or having sex. As a kink, the crucial word is consensual: watching people who know and welcome it (a partner, performers, a couple at a play party, or camming and porn). It's the natural counterpart to exhibitionism, which is why voyeurs and exhibitionists pair so well. The thrill is in observing — being the unseen or invited eye on someone else's pleasure. It overlaps with exhibitionism, camming, and group play.
Watching taps a primal curiosity — the intimacy of witnessing others' real pleasure, the slight taboo of looking, and the arousal of a live, unscripted scene. For many it also pairs perfectly with a partner who loves being watched.
It might mean watching a partner masturbate or with someone else, attending a play party or sex club as an observer, enjoying camming and porn, or a couple performing for each other. The watching is welcomed by everyone involved.
Legally and ethically, only ever watch people who've consented — spying, peeping, or recording the unaware is a serious crime. Beyond that it's low-risk; in group or party settings, respect house rules and everyone's boundaries.
There's a hard line between consensual voyeurism (a kink) and spying on people who haven't agreed (a crime). Watching a partner, a performer, or a couple who want to be watched is play; secretly recording or peeping on the unaware is illegal and harmful — the kink is about invited watching.
